A starting line was established in adjacent Rooms A and B. All 5 dancers began in Room A. A tape of a wooden stick striking a glass every 5 seconds was played. The dancers took one step across the starting line and returned to starting position within 10 seconds, then 2 steps and return to start in 10 seconds, 3 steps return etc. The piece continued until the number of steps going out was greater than the time allotted for returning to start. Size and speed of each step altered every 10 seconds. The dancers were not identical. Each time the piece was repeated through the accumulating format, one dancer moved from room A to B until all 5 were in Room B and none in Room A. The audience could move from A to B but most chose to remain in A and listen to the final editions.
Running-Mistitled premiered as part of Accumulating Pieces, 1973, was part of Structured Pieces I, 1973, and is also part of Line Up (1977).
