REPERTORY/ Drift

Five dancers stood side by side, to the right of center at the rear of a performing area that was 120 feet long and 40 feet wide. The action was to walk straight forward at a medium pace until reaching the front edge of the audience.  The dancers’ feet moved a fraction of an inch to the right with each step. They appeared to be walking straight forward but the image slides to the right of the space at the same time as it loomed into the foreground. Chronology of Dances, 1974 Drift. Trisha Brown Archive.
