REPERTORY/ Canto/Pianto

A masterful stroke of theater… a luminous work full of wonders… stunningly beautiful.
-Jean Beattey Lewis, The Washington Times

Canto/Pianto is an abstracted retelling of the Orpheus myth. Brown’s acclaimed staging of Monteverdi’s opera L’Orfeo is the source of some of its movement, which is variously deconstructed and layered with new choreography.
