Position Title: Company Manager 
Hours: 20 hours per week (16 hours in-office, 4 hours remote), at least 10 weeks annually full-time while on tour or during NYC Season 
Compensation: $25 to $28/ hourly based on experience + $1,400/weekly rate while touring 
Benefits: Paid prorated vacation, personal days, sick days, and paid time off between Christmas and New Year’s, opportunity to participate in TBDC’s 403B plan.

Overview
The Company Manager is responsible for overseeing logistical, administrative, and operational support for the company’s touring, performances, and general company activities. This role requires a self-starter with strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small, busy team. The Company Manager serves as the primary liaison for dancers, Associate Artistic Director, production staff, presenters, Executive Director, Programming Director, and stakeholders while on tour, ensuring seamless coordination of travel, accommodations, scheduling, and hospitality, as well as assisting the Production Manager with theater activities. This position reports directly to the Programming Director and works closely with the Executive Director, Production Manager, Lighting Designer, Associate Artistic Director, Rehearsal Director and TBDC Dancers.  


Job Responsibilities

Administrative, Operations & Pre-Tour Duties 
• General Administration & Planning 
• Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and prepare agendas
• Provide administrative support as needed and requested by Executive Director, Programming Director or Associate Artistic Director 
• Maintain the programming grid for archival and development purposes
• Tour Preparation & Logistics 
• Book company travel, insurance, and prepare tour itineraries
• Organize housing, local tour contacts, and transportation details
• Handle work permit and visa applications for international tours
• Attend production meetings
• Schedule and lead pre-tour itinerary meetings with dancers and production staff
• Book rehearsal space and serve as main contact
• Costume & Storage Coordination
• Schedule costume fittings, alterations, and transport between locations, and coordinate cleanings
• Assist with storage runs as needed
• Maintain costume inventory
• Packing & Transportation
• Help pack and transport company luggage to the airport in collaboration with the Production Manager
• Organize dancer luggage rotation
• Company Representation & Event Coordination 
• Act as a company representative on tour, liaising with presenters and stakeholders
• Assist with open rehearsals, special events and merchandise sales

On Tour Duties
• Presenter & Hospitality Coordination
• Serve as the main point of contact for presenters
• Provide all required paperwork to venue
• Manage ticket requests and distribution in partnership with Executive and Programming Director and international agents
• Greet VIPs and presenters at performances
• Oversee hospitality and address dancer needs
• Collect Tour Follow-Up forms from venues
• Company & Dancer Logistics
•Confirm schedules and communicate updates
• Be present for all stage rehearsals
• Escort dancers to venues and manage entry/exit procedures
• Oversee costume needs with production and wardrobe staff
• Report injuries, concerns, or travel issues
• Maintain contact with Executive Director and Programming Director while on tour
• Marketing, Press & Archiving
• Oversee press activities and collect venue clippings
• Coordinate interviews with Programming Director and Associate Artistic Director
• Coordinate photographers and videographers with Marketing Manager
• Collect programs and archival materials, share them with Archivist upon return
• Financial & Administrative Oversight
• Manage and track tour petty cash and expenses. 

Post-Tour Duties
• Financial & Administrative Wrap-Up
• Submit all tour reimbursements, including dancer reimbursements, and journal entries within 14 days
• Conduct a wrap-up meeting with the Programming Director
• Send a tour summary email with key takeaways
• Archival & Media Follow-Up
• Collect video and photo documentation from venues. 

NYC Season Duties
• Production & Rehearsal Support
• Be present for all stage rehearsals, production, load-in, and load-out
• Assist in managing the weekly schedule
• Hospitality & Logistics
• Arrange hospitality for the Joyce Theater season. 


Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
• Experience in a performing arts organization or equivalent experience preferred
• Familiarity with national and international touring preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills with keen attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive and outgoing personality
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments while taking ownership of job responsibilities
• Self-motivated with strong decision-making skills
• Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed
• Must have a valid passport, driver’s license,  and ability to rent a vehicle preferred
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and database management
• COVID-19 vaccination or willingness to receive vaccination
• Passion for travel and the performing arts
• French or Spanish language skills a plus but not a requirement!
