On the occasion of the Festival's 2019 edition and the one hundredth anniversary of Merce Cunningham's birth, around a hundred performers from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) paid homage to the choreographer during an Event the size of which was in keeping with his influence. This new proposition, which reproduces the same staging, is in honour of Trisha Brown, four years following her death. An historic figure of post-modern dance, who trained under Anna Halprin, Robert Dunn, Merce Cunningham and John Cage, the choreographer belongs to a generation which worked tirelessly towards the deconstruction of the norms of representation and codes of the spectacle. Reconstituted in the form of a unique combination of extracts, and drawn from a repertory of over a hundred pieces, audiences will be given the opportunity to discover or rediscover a body of work, performed by a new generation of artists, which has lost none of its impact in today's world.
