TBDC to open Bard SummerScape Festival
From JULY 8-11, TBDC will open Bard College's SummerScape Festival in bucolic Upstate, NY; just two hours outside the city. Repertory will include L'Amour au theatre (2009), two Rauschenberg collaborations, plus a revived excerpt from Twelve Ton Rose (1996). WORLD PREMIERE of PYGMALION!
The World Premiere of Trisha Brown's newest opera direction will occur on JUNE 13, 15 & 16 at the Holland Festival in Amsterdam . A magnificent rendition of Rameau's masterpiece with four opera soloists, a full chorus, an orchestra conducted by William Christie, and of course, our glowing Company dancers. Come learn excerpts from the newly revived masterwork, "Opal Loop/Cloud Installation #72503" (1983) and "Foray Foret" (1990) at this weekend's technique and repertory workshop. Company members Tamara Riewe and Nicholas Strafaccia will lead students through a 2-hour technique class that will prepare them for learning the repertory. This Saturday & Sunday, May 8 & 9, from 12-4pm at Center for Performance Research in Brooklyn, NY. $40/day, first come, first served.
